An individualised training programme built around your specific developmental needs, identified by our consulting team. Generally long-term (3+ months), with customised attention, fast measurable improvement, and specialised skills coaches.
Best for: players training individually who want fast, measurable progress. Minimum of 3 sessions (required for assessment, fit, and a developmental plan).
Assessment and consulting for players who want to understand their true level, benchmarked against peers locally and internationally, with a clear plan for how to get there.
Best for: players targeting university basketball, locally or internationally. A 2-week programme, 3 sessions per week.
Our full suite of tailored consulting for advanced players — skills development, strength & conditioning, and exit pathways/recruitment — delivered by ESCA’s specialist consultant panel (Championship Lab, Game Development, Wellness: Physical, Wellness: Mental) alongside EXA Global for university and international placement.
Best for: advanced players and families planning the next serious step. Minimum of 5 sessions (required for assessment, fit, and a developmental plan across skills, strength & conditioning, and recruitment).
Before we build a plan, we find out what’s really there. Every player is assessed across five areas by our ESCA-affiliated specialist team. The result isn’t a grade — it’s a starting point for a plan built around you.

Pathway & Academic
Coordinated local and international university planning, from Grade 10.
As you train, get assessed, and compete, your Jozi Stars profile grows with you — assessment history, development notes, achievements, and coach evaluations, all in one place. It’s yours and your coach’s to see.
Nothing from your profile becomes public, or is shared with recruiters, without you and your family’s explicit consent — in line with our Child Safeguarding & Protection Policy.

Why Choose Jozi Stars
Where talent meets opportunity — on and off the court.
As a parent or player, choosing the right basketball programme is about more than just skills training — it’s about an environment that fosters growth as an athlete, a student, and a young adult. At Jozi Stars, we understand that.
Our coaching staff brings international-level experience, with backgrounds playing at the college and professional levels around the world, and currently coach at the highest levels of the game in South Africa — mentorship by coaches who’ve been where you’re trying to go and know how to help you get there.
Proven Player Development Pathways
Jozi Stars coaches and partners have a proud track record of helping young athletes reach the next level. Players have gone on to represent national teams at the junior, university and senior level throughout Africa, exited into U.S. College programs from NCAA DI down to NAIA, as well as professional leagues in South Africa, the Basketball Africa League, and beyond.
Real Opportunities, Not Just Hype
We create exciting and real pathways for student-athletes to access future opportunities — academically and professionally. Every practice, every game, every workshop is designed to bring your child closer to those goals.

Student-Athlete Focus
We believe in developing the whole person, not just the player. Through partnerships with leading academic institutions, we ensure your child receives academic support and guidance, character development, and life skills for success beyond basketball.
Whether you dream of college scholarships or professional contracts, we’re here to help map out that journey.
Our teams and programmes cover ages 10 to 19 across five options — see the programme cards above to find the right starting point.
How much does it cost?
Cost depends on the programme. Get in touch via the Registration form and we’ll confirm what applies to your child.
What happens during the assessment?
Our ESCA-affiliated specialist team assesses technical skill, basketball IQ, physical development, mental performance, and (for older players) academic/pathway planning — then builds a development plan from the results.
Do you help with university or scholarship applications?
Yes — through our EXA Global partnership, we help plan both South African and international university pathways in parallel, starting as early as Grade 10. We don’t guarantee placement or scholarships; we build the plan and profile that make those opportunities possible.
Is this only for advanced players?
No — Skills Development is built for players just starting to sharpen their fundamentals. Every track has a genuine entry point.
